Steve McBee is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of Huck Capital, a San Francisco-based investment platform at the forefront of building the next generation of technology enabled sustainable energy providers.
Steve started Huck to capitalize on the emerging market opportunity embedded in the clean economy transition and to serve as one catalyst to hold the line at 2 degrees by rapidly capitalizing scalable- zero carbon energy providers that accelerate the proliferation of clean power.
Steve is a highly successful entrepreneur who has built several businesses challenging incumbent service models.
Prior to starting Huck Capital, Steve partnered with large financial institutions to acquire and aggregate at-scale assets in US consumer and commercial markets. Before that, Steve was CEO of NRG Home, a clean energy business with $5.5 billion in revenue and $700 million in EBITDA serving over three million customers in US energy markets.
Steve was also founder and CEO of McBee Strategic Consulting, which under his leadership grew to one of the largest and most diverse advisory platforms in Washington, DC serving Fortune 500 corporations, emerging growth businesses, and large financial institutions and venture capital investors. Steve sold McBee Strategic in 2014 to the Washington-based law firm Wiley Rein, LLP.
Since 2010, Steve has served as an advisory board member to Vantage Point Capital Partners, a global venture investor investing in early and growth stage clean energy technologies.
Steve lives in San Francisco, CA and Sun Valley, ID with his wife and three sons, and is an avid snowboarder, mountain biker and lover of all things outdoors.
